Daddy511 Help
Daddy511 is an Android application aimed to help assist timing contractions and also provides guidance on the proper time to go to the hospital when expecting a new baby. The application has been designed in a way that the interface should be very easy to use and self explanatory. In this section we provide some additional insights into the application and answer some frequently asked questions. The core function is a timer that allows you to track contractions, but the application also provides some analysis as it relates to the commonly known "511" tracking method. The application also allows the user to input details about the pregnancy and then it tracks and provides useful information.
Main Screen:
The main screen has three options:
Baby Stats: This section provides details about the progress of the pregnancy as well as useful information.
Contraction Timer: This section allows contractions to be timed and shows 511 progress.
Settings: This section allows the user to customize Daddy511.
Baby Stats:
The baby stats screen allows the tracking of the pregnancy. If this is the first time that you have used the application, you will need to input information about your pregnancy. At the bottom of the screen you will find a button to "Edit Baby Info". If the information has already been set in the application, then you can easily track your pregnancy at a glance! You will see stats such as due date, baby gender, baby name, time to go, time passed, current trimester and week of pregnancy. Also at the bottom there are buttons that provide quick access to your doctor and hospital contact information as defined in your phone contacts.
Contraction Timer:
This section is the core of Daddy511 and is where you can time contractions. The layout is designed to be straight forward considering that typically when you are timing contractions it can be a very stressful time or even late at night! At the bottom of the screen you will see a large button. Press this button to either start timing a Contraction or start timing a Rest Period. Each time you press the button it will track the information in the middle of the screen. It will first list the contraction information and then next to it will be the rest information. Together this provides the necessary information Daddy511 needs to do it's analysis. This process should be repeated for each contraction and it will be added on this screen. You can then scroll up and down to look at all the contractions that have been timed. On the far right of each contraction you can click to see additional details about that particular contraction. From this screen on each individual contraction you also have the option to delete it. This can be important for the proper 511 statistics if you need to remove a contraction that was improperly timed.
At the top right, you will see a button called "511 Progress". If you click this, it will take you to another screen that will show the 511 analysis. You can continue to time contractions from this screen. If you click the same button again (icon changes to a stopwatch) you will toggle back to the contraction listing screen. You may find that you switch back and forth between these screens frequently when you are timing contractions. On the 511 Progress screen you will see several metrics being tracked such as Total Time, Total Contractions, Contractions Analyzed, Average Contraction and Average Rest. At the bottom you will see a progress bar that shows how close you may be to going to the hospital based on the 511 analysis. Pay close attention to below the bar as it will say what mode you are in for 511. See settings help section for more information. You should test and use the application several times well in advance of your due date to make sure you are comfortable with how it works and understand the information provided. Daddy511 tracks all contractions, but only analyzes the last 10 contractions that are in the 511 pattern.
As you continue to time, if the contractions are in the 511 pattern it will increase the progress bar. When you reach 511, the application will open a screen that says "5-1-1 Detected!" It will also beep and buzz if you have these settings configured. You will then have 3 options. You can open the Doctor Contact to call them, which is recommended. You can get directions to Hospital or you can click close to continue timing. If you have reached the 511 pattern it is recommended that you call your doctor and discuss your next steps.

Contraction Timer
There are many many modes that you can use with Daddy511. At any time if you are concerned you are not in the right mode, refer to the statistics that are on the 511 Progress screen. It will display the average time for contractions and rest period giving you a good indication on the progress. Also, you can switch back to the contraction timing screen and see the raw time for each contraction. As always, if you are unsure, concerned or think you should go to the hospital call your doctor immediately!
511 Mode
The 511 timing method is that when contractions happen every 5 minutes or less, they last for at least 1 min, and this continues for 1 hour, it is an indication of labor and time to call your doctor and head to the hospital. It is important to note that there can be variations of contractions and this setting allows you to tell Daddy511 how to handle it. Please read carefully as this is an important step. Daddy511 by default is set to be more flexible on the 511 settings to ensure you give yourself plenty of time to get to the hospital. It is important to also consult with you doctor prior to selecting a setting as well! It is also important to note that Daddy511 is to be used when you start having contractions. If you have been having contractions for several hours and then start using Daddy511 you may be much further along in labor and possible should have already called your doctor and left for the hospital. Daddy511 has a early warning indicated built in to try to assist in identifying any issues. If you have 3 contractions that last for over 1 minute and are 3 minutes or less apart Daddy511 will indicate that you should call your doctor as the contractions are very close together!
Practice - This mode will increment the 511 progress bar with each contraction\rest interval regardless of the 511 pattern. Typically this mode is used for practice/testing only. It is advised and extremely important to test the application to ensure you understand how it functions prior to your due date. You should be familiar with the application and it usage prior to the "real thing" so that you do not have any unforeseen issues.
Soft - This mode will increment the progress bar when the contractions match the 511 pattern by +/- 15 seconds. This means that contractions must be 5 mins or less apart (+15 secs) and must last for at least 1 min(-15 sec). This must continue for 1 hour. If a single contraction does not match the pattern, progress will not stop and will increase the progress bar. If two contractions are not in the pattern (does not have to be in a row) then the progress bar will start over. The next contraction in the 511 pattern will start the progress again. If two contractions are improperly timed or are off for some reason (random contraction times) the only way for the progress bar not to reset and to continue progress in that session is if you delete that contraction at the timing screen. See help section under Contraction Timer as to how to delete a contraction.
Tolerant - This mode will increment the progress bar when the contractions match the 511 pattern by +/- 5 seconds. This means that contractions must be 5 mins or less apart (+5 secs) and must last for at least 1 min(-5 sec). This must continue for 1 hour. If a single contraction does not match the pattern, for example a contraction lasts only 40 secs progress will NOT start over. If two contractions in the hour are off pattern that is when the progress will start over.
Strict - This mode will increment the progress bar only when the contractions are strictly matching the 511 pattern. This means that contractions must be 5 mins or less apart and must last for at least 1 min. This must continue for 1 hour. If a single contraction does not match the pattern, for example a contraction lasts only 45 secs then the progress will start over. If a contraction is improperly timed or is off for some reason (random contraction time) the only way for the progress bar not to reset and to continue is if you delete that contraction at the timing screen. See help section under Contraction Timer.

FAQ:
Q: How can I get Daddy511?
A: Currently Daddy511 is only on the Android platform and can be purchased in the Market. We do have a iPhone application that is under development and are also in discussion to turn Daddy511 into a product. If you are interested in working with us please contact us at support@daddy511.com
Q: Why is it called Daddy511?
A: Many parents that are expecting a child are typically very concerned about the correct time to go to the hospital. Go too early and the doctor will be upset and send you home. Go too late and you might end up having your child at home or in the car! A rule of thumb that is taught to many expecting parents is 511. When contractions are 5 minutes apart, lasting 1 minute and this pattern continues for 1 hour it is time to call your doctor and most likely time to go to the hospital.
Q: What should I do if it feels like the baby is coming but have not reached 511?
A: Call your doctor immediately!
Q: What should I do if I don't feel very well while timing contractions?

Q: I purchased the application but it has not downloaded yet!
A: We actually have nothing to do with the market functionality (purchase and credit card transaction portion). That is all Google. In some cases we have seen reports where you will need to resubmit to get it to work. There seems to be some issues that Google is still working on. For support you can visit Google's site.
Q: What else should I know?
A: Daddy511 supports limited swiping between screens.
